The country’s most powerful and outstanding CIOs and ICT leaders driving the digital revolution were recognised at a virtual felicitation ceremony — CIO Power List 2021 All online — on 20th May 2021, presented by CORE Media.
Now in its 7th edition, CIO Power List recognises CIOs, IT Leaders and Digital Leaders who have demonstrated extraordinary vision and done outstanding work in the last one year in the field of enterprise technology. These leaders have been instrumental in effectively navigating the marketplace disruption, ensuring business growth, and improving customer engagement for their organizations.
This year, the CIO Power List honoured 150 CIOs in three main groupings, namely Business Icons, Technology Icons and Special Icons.
Business Icon recognitions are presented to select CIOs/IT Leaders from 13 different industry verticals, while Technology Icons are bestowed upon leaders across 20 different technology categories. Special Icons are introduced to recognize leaders who positively thrived through the turbulent phase from last year and are presented to winners across 5 special categories.

The CIO Power List 2021 awardees were finalised on the basis of an algorithm that takes into account a wide range of data collected on CIOs across multiple channels. These include the CIOs’ online reputation, business publications and technology magazines, combined data on awards, honours and recognitions won, achievements till date, a random sampling of social media engagements, and a national survey of peer CIO sentiments. Additionally there are inputs from the CIO himself/herself on their key moments in the past year.
