Key takeaways from B2B Online, Europe 2025

eClerx was proud to take part in B2B Online Europe 2025, a leading conference focused on the future of digital commerce for manufacturers, distributors, and B2B organizations. The event gathered senior leaders from across the industry to discuss how companies are advancing omnichannel operations, product content, and customer experiences.

Across two days of sessions, workshops, and demonstrations, attendees explored how technology, data, and operational structure are being used to drive scalable commerce growth while supporting stronger customer engagement and business resilience.

Here are several key takeaways our team gained over the course of the event:

●   Elevating product content and digital shelf execution

A number of speakers spotlighted the need for richer, more accurate product content as a lever for conversion and brand trust. Experts emphasized improving digital shelf readiness, noting that shoppers now rely heavily on online comparison, and so brands must match those expectations with consistent and high-quality content. Organisational adoption and change management with eCommerce, content and PIM platform transformations continues to be a recurring challenge for attendees.

●   Using data and customer insights to guide decision-making

Organizations are placing a greater emphasis on analytics to predict demand more accurately. Data readiness continues to be a big challenge, especially as organizations proceed with internal AI developments. A frequent talking point was how to move beyond fragmented data approaches and build more connected decision-intelligence systems.

●   Adopting technology and automation for operational resilience

Industry leaders demonstrated how automation, workflow tools, and integration platforms are powering more adaptive, connected commerce ecosystems. Attendees highlighted the need to choose flexible, scalable solutions that evolve with business models, instead of rigid systems that drive up complexity. GenAI continues to be a theme, especially for businesses that have operationalized initial quick-win cost efficiencies and are now looking for more sophisticated use cases that can add real value.

●   Strengthening commerce operations and fulfillment efficiency

Speakers pushed for smarter order management, tighter fulfilment coordination, and stronger cross-team workflows to improve delivery outcomes. In order to keep up with rising demand and channel volume, a strong recommendation was to reduce manual effort and eliminate operational bottlenecks.
