Transforming client lifecycle management for a U.S.-based investment group

eClerx partnered with a U.S.-based investment group to improve its client lifecycle management processes. By enhancing its onboarding process, strengthening compliance workflows, and improving document handling, the firm was able to enhance operational efficiency and deliver a smoother client experience. The result? Revenue grew from $0.5M in FY’22 to $1.3M in FY’24

This investment group operates in a highly regulated environment where accurate client data, efficient onboarding, and strong compliance controls are critical. As regulatory demands increased, the firm needed a more structured and scalable approach to managing client information and compliance activities.

Over time, manual processes and disconnected systems made it harder to maintain efficiency. The firm required a single, reliable platform to manage onboarding, Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) processes, and secure client interactions.

The challenge

Managing client lifecycle processes requires consistency, accuracy, and strong controls. For this investment group, existing workflows created operational complexity and limited scalability.

The firm needed to improve client onboarding, streamline KYC and AML activities, enhance document handling, and provide a secure and seamless digital experience for clients.

Key challenges included:

Fragmented workflows:

  • Multiple systems supporting onboarding and compliance
  • Limited process efficiency and visibility

Manual document handling:

  • High reliance on form-based processes
  • Slower turnaround times and increased effort

Compliance pressures:

  • Growing KYC and AML requirements
  • Need for consistent and scalable controls

Client experience gaps:

  • Complex onboarding journey
  • Limited digital interaction capabilities

Our strategy

After reviewing these challenges, eClerx implemented a structured transformation program centered on Compliance Manager, eClerx’s client lifecycle management platform.

First, Compliance Manager was deployed within six weeks to streamline client onboarding and serve as the central system of record for KYC data. This provided a single, reliable source for managing client information and compliance workflows.

Next, the platform scope was expanded to include periodic reviews, aligning the solution with the client’s AML framework. This helped standardize ongoing compliance activities while reducing manual effort.

To improve document handling, eClerx integrated DocIntel, eClerx’s document digitization and enrichment platform. This enabled efficient processing of fund subscription and tax forms while improving accuracy and accessibility.

Finally, a client-facing portal was introduced to simplify digital onboarding and fund subscription. This created a smoother and more intuitive client experience while supporting secure interactions.

As part of the transformation, the KYC workflow was refined and structured across all stages, including request initiation, document review, data gap analysis, client outreach, screening, risk analysis, approvals, and case data transfer.

The results

By simplifying workflows and consolidating processes into a single platform, the investment group improved compliance efficiency and operational performance.

Teams gained better visibility into workflows, reduced manual dependency, and strengthened consistency across onboarding and periodic review activities. The firm also saw measurable business growth following the transformation.

  • Streamlined onboarding and compliance workflows
  • Improved document handling and data accuracy
  • Enhanced digital experience through a client-facing portal
  • Strengthened KYC and AML process controls
  • Revenue growth from $0.5M in FY’22 to $0.6M in FY’23 and $1.3M in FY’24

With Compliance Manager and DocIntel forming the core of the solution, the firm established a more scalable and resilient lifecycle management framework, better positioned to support future growth and evolving regulatory demands.

As compliance requirements continue to evolve, the organization is well prepared to adapt, ensuring that client lifecycle management remains efficient, consistent, and client-focused.
